Client-facing engineering keeps you honest
At Cyntra you talk to the people who will use what you build, own architecture decisions you can defend, and see the operational consequence of your work. That is uncomfortable occasionally and the fastest way to become a better engineer.
What to expect here
Written plainly, including the parts some engineers will dislike.
You meet the client
Engineers attend discovery workshops and fortnightly demonstrations. You hear the problem first-hand rather than through a written ticket, and you present your own work.
You own decisions
Architecture is decided by the engineer leading the engagement, documented with rationale, and reviewed by peers — not handed down by someone who will not maintain it.
Scope is defended, not absorbed
When a request falls outside agreed scope, we raise a change order. You are never asked to quietly absorb extra work to keep a client comfortable.
Quality is not negotiable under pressure
Test coverage, security review and documentation are part of the estimate, not the part that gets cut when a date slips. Timelines move before quality does.
Bad news travels fast
If you see a risk to scope, schedule or quality, you raise it immediately. Nobody is penalised for early warning; delayed warning is the actual problem.
You will write
Documentation, architecture notes, client updates and occasionally published insights. If you dislike writing, this will be the hardest part of the role.
